WORTH CONSUMING!

This is a silly early romantic comedy. A great showcase for Carole Lombard’s comic timing and sexy attitude. I felt bad for poor Ralph Bellamy; every romantic comedy I ever seem him in, he never gets the girl. And young Fred MacMurray puts in a CRAZY performance as an irresponsible cad who eventually wins the heroine – and the audience – over. There’s not as much to the story as I would have liked, but they were still testing out the genre back then, so it was interesting to see the a point in its early development. It was an interesting early rom-com, fun but not something I would go out and crow about.
