WORTH CONSUMING!

Not as good as season 1. The beginning of Season 2 was hard to push through. After being so incredibly invested in the characters of season 1, I was frustrated to have to get to know a whole group of new characters when all I could care about was
“where’s kate, jack, locke, walt, michael, etc.”

But trust that it gets better. Waaaay better. Still no season 1, but has me pumped to see season 3 and 4!

WORTH CONSUMING!

The extra disc (#7) in the Season 2 DVD Set is a riot! It was produced exactly like the Dharma Initiative film clips, but it’s interactive. Too much fun! I especially liked the bloopers and the section on Sawyer’s World. If you have only seen the espisodes and not the extra features, get hold of this bonus disc and watch everything on it. You’ll love it!

WORTH CONSUMING!

I’m fully addicted, but mad b/c the writers are tripping up now. Oh, but I had so much faith in them! The power of good character development! Now they’re messing with/neglecting the character development! I’m angry! Michael did not have to kill off Ana Lucia and Libby for the plot to be interesting. Sadistic, I tell you!

The deal with this show, what makes it so great, is the character development. If you fall in love with the characters or a character then you’re going to love this show, otherwise there is no point. The mystery of what’s going on certainly plays a part, but it better to focus on everyone’s background and figure out how everyone is interconnected (even before they were on the Island). Easter eggs abound, like Hurley on the TV when Jin is beating someone up, Sawyer running into a car door when Christian Shephard (talking to Ana Lucia) are parked outside a bar, a Dharma logo on a shark’s tail… examples abound. i know i’m not as addicted to this show as some, but man i love these characters. i can’t help but love Lost.

Finshed season 2 – and I admit I liked it better then season 1 though I do feel the smoke monster was a bit of a jump the shark the moment – the second half of season 2 seemed to be there strongest half yet – though still not must see tv for me.

A question I have about this — 3 years ago

What is the deal – I’m halfway through season 2 and forcing my way through – but still do not get the “hook” and hype around the show.

Why do people watch this day in day out and obsess over it?

It seems to be worthless TV trash and the mass market is eating it up.

Great, even if not as good as season 1 — 3 years ago

WORTH CONSUMING!

I admit that it isn’t as good as season 1. But it’s still good. Especially for broadcast television. I don’t regret spending $35 for it on iTunes (even if that is a ripoff).

WORTH CONSUMING!

I bought Lost season 2 online from iTunes last week. Benjamin and I started watching it in our hotel a couple of nights ago. Although we had a TV and an iPod composite cable, we couldn’t get it working (tip: There’s a TV Out setting on the iPod under Video Settings). We also had a 20” flat panel monitor (yes, we travel light), but no PC speakers. So, desperate to watch Lost, we ended up watching it on the iPod screen with Benjamin’s Bose headphones attached and lying open on the bed, volume cranked to 90%.

Last night we successfully got the iPod connected to my brother’s 14” TV (hence the TV Out setting tip) and watched a couple more episodes. Although it was good, the compression was really noticeable during the dark shots (which is most of Lost). Tonight I may try watching it on my computer by borrowing my brother’s PC speakers. The compression isn’t as noticeable there, eve, though the screen is much larger. I imagine it’s because the video gets compressed more on the iPod than the PC, but it could be the video out or some other factor.
