I’ve read books with better interviews but i think it was pretty good. most books don’t have as many interviews plus there was a reference list and a suggested reading list.

Meh. Definitely wishy-washy. On the one hand, there are some interesting insights into why horror writers and screenwriters (Matheson, King, Koontz, Bloch, Romero, etc.) write, where they get their ideas, and what they consider scary. On the other hand, pretty much the only woman in the whole book is Anne Rice going on about how erotic everything is, and the majority of the book is snippets of interviews with the same 10 or so writers.
