This album is a series of live recordings from Marion McPartland’s tenure at the Hickory House Club in the early 1950s. I was delighted to discover that McPartland doesn’t sing; she’s a female jazz piano virtuoso of her own! McPartland is notable as the host of a her own NPR show that started in 1978. This album is a true gem!
