I enjoyed this story of two pairs of sisters whose lives were touched by magic. I especially liked how both Gillian and Sally and Kylie and Antonia learned to take risks, trust their feelings and appreciate each other over time.

Don’t get me wrong-I liked the book. I usually like the book a lot more than the movie. In fact, I’m the one that always tells people that they just have to read the book when they say they love this or that movie.

However….

This may be the one time I will say that I liked the movie better than the book. The movie had a warmth to it. The storyline followed a path and felt both real and unreal at the same time. The book was sort of all over the place and I didn’t feel for any one of the characters. I gave it 3 stars because I enjoyed reading it but I would not recommend it to a friend.
