WORTH CONSUMING!
A surprsingly good album from a band I’d previously filed under “wimp/bland-corporate”. Obviously influenced by the wonderful Rufus Wainwright, this is a swooping, gloomy album full of lush melodies and melancholic musing. Ignore the people who are saying this is a pile of crap and Keane should have made a carbon copy of their first album. This appears to be a missive from the dark side, with Keane themselves referring to ‘Under the Iron Sea’ as the album they had to make. Whatever those boys have been taking, it’s been serving them well.
