But not quite. It was better than I expected. I enjoyed the earlier section where she finds her ‘faith’. I wasn’t so interested in her love story – too many ‘darlings’.
I thought the writing was lovely and conversational. At times I laughed out loud, at times I squirmed in uncomforable recognition. It was journey through physical pleasure, spiritual enlightenment, and self introspection. Some orthodox religious readers may be a bit put off by the eastern philosophies, but try to have an open mind.
Mostly worth it because it makes me want to meditate and really “take charge” of my life. Also, I may have just stepped out of a relationship I truly loved, so I could relate a bit.
Honestly, the writing style was a bit annoying — you can tell she’s a journalist and therefore rather one-liner crazy, and it’s a bit God-focused, but it’s good nonetheless.
