Galbraith at the top of his form, writing lucidly, provocatively about the economy, debunking the conventional wisdom, taking on allcomers with erudition and plain force of argument. Every topic is addressed: production, inequality, social balance, security, unemployment, inflation, the transition from a world of scarcity to one of affluence and the implications for economic and social policy. I wish someone could right as powerfully as he did, we are due for a similar analysis that weaves everything together and that the layman as well as the specialist can derive value from. As it is, we are so specialized these days… No one quite mined the Zeitgeist like Galbraith…
