A story about this — 1 year ago

After listening to my boss elude to this book for more than two years, I finally took the bait and read it myself.

The book’s divided into three parts: a prologue, the actual story, and an epilogue. Though the story may have some good metaphors and/or morals, the pro- and epilogue are just garbage to the point where they are nearly embarrassing to read and – for me – taint the actual substance of the story. (They both involve a fictional group of people who introduce the story and then proceed to discuss it … ugh!)

At least I read this on the beach, so there was something redeeming to the experience…

NOT WORTH CONSUMING

It’s a 20-page story that might be helpful to some people, stretched into 70 pages, and then wrapped in 20 more pages of bullshit trying to convince the reader of how good the story is.

This is the very definition of lame. The idea of the story might be a good one - for 6th graders - but it’s what any adult should already know. And more importantly, if you’re an adult and you don’t already know this, you’re not going to suddenly have a revelation after reading this lousy book.

NOT WORTH CONSUMING

This was a really quick and boring read. I figured so many people were ranting and raving about it that perhaps reading it might do me some good. No, not really.

The book is about a story of two mice and two little people who live in a maze and try to find cheese. They all find a huge supply of cheese and when the cheese is all gone, the two mice go off to find more cheese while the two little people can’t quite accept that the cheese is gone and isn’t coming back.

The story of the people at their high school reunion telling the story is laughable. They’re all so excited to discuss how the story changed their lives. I wrote better stories in the 3rd grade.

I was not motivated at all by this book. View me as a Hem if you want, but the book is filled with things you SHOULD already know. You have to change and adapt in this world if you’re going to get anywhere in life. You have to pay attention to your surroundings so you can notice when things are changing and be prepared for it.

I honestly can’t believe that there are people who don’t already know this. I can’t see how reading this horribly written book will motivate anyone to change their ways.

NOT WORTH CONSUMING

“Who Moved My Cheese” was truly awful. I worked at an ascendant Southwest Airlines through the 90’s and once a year we’d all receive something to help motivate us even more.
The year we got this book was the year I knew the ride was over. Ugh. 100 or so pages of juvenile writing in large print.
