I’ve heard several songs off this album many times, and finally picked it up for myself a couple days ago. The songs I had heard before I still really really liked, my favorite being “Overtime,” although I still really like “Fruits of My Labor” and “Righteously.” A couple more surprised me, like “Minneapolis” and “Words Fell,” but they did so because of the hum-drum nature of most of the other songs. and while i appreciate her generally experimental nature, exhibited in “American Dream” and “Atonement,” but these songs, atonement especially, are downright annoying.
i guess its a lot to ask of any artist to have a dud free album. overall, this is a pretty good album, with a couple fantastic songs.
