WORTH CONSUMING!

Sure, this film seems to fall into the trap of focusing on the drug addiction and turmoil, but one can surmise those were formative years. I think this was a very enjoyable music and both Joaquin Phoenix and Rees Witherspoon did great work as the leads, including their singing. I recommend the flick unless you’re the highly critical type; then it’s your own call. ;-)

FWIW, this movie felt better paced and less over-dramatized than Ray did to me, though I admit I skipped part of that movie since it was dragging on so darn long.

WORTH CONSUMING!

Fabulous movie. I thought Joaquin was amazing (and quipped to Adam that we MUST name our children fabulous names—I mean, Joaquin and River… I aspire to that) and so was Reese. We were pretty tired so it felt as though the movie dragged on and on, but it really didn’t. I didn’t realize Johnny Cash’s live was so tumultous. Adam and I both HATED his first wife—although I heard on the radio that the kids from that marriage hated the movie and said their mother was nothing like that. Maybe she wasn’t like that after they finally divorced. Anyway, a really great movie and I’m sorry I didn’t see it in the theatre (it wasn’t for lack of trying!).

NOT WORTH CONSUMING

felt like a t.v. movie of the week—predictable predictable predictable and dull.

sad, considering the subject matter was earnestly interesting.

for fans of cliched scene-chewing in perfectly-pressed vintage …
