A story about this — 5 years ago
I tried Kombu for the first time this past Sunday (April 23, 2006). I found a recipe for Kombu tea (apparently good for strengthening the blood). Use one 3-inch strip of kombu to 1 quart water. Bring to a boil, reduce flame, and simmer 10 minutes. As for the Kombu seaweeds themselves, I wasn’t sure what to do with them. I ate a few and the rest I put in my mix. The tea was great. I thought it was going to taste stronger than it did and I thought it was going to be bitter but it wasn’t. I was this nice smooth taste and it’s healthy!
Now I’m going to try other seaweeds such as Kelp, Wakame, Arame, Nori and Hijiki/Hiziki.
