This is an amazing book. It am very sad to have finished it.
The prose style is detached, and reads a bit like Bret Easton Ellis (a favourite of mine) except it’s much more warm and funny. The story is gradually revealed, twisting as it goes, but without any clumsiness or irritation.
It’s the first Palahniuk I’ve read (though I’ve seen the movie of Fight Club), but I will certainly be investigating further

My first book by Chuck, it was really confusing in the beginning and strongly resembled Bret Easton Ellis. As it went on it started twisting around and making sense, and ended up being excellent.
It starts of with an exciting scene and then jumps around chronologically with weaves and turns and introductions and jaw dropping revelations.
I’ve heard a lot of Palahniuk fans say they lost interest in this book and didn’t finish it. But I found the final third to be particularly enjoyable and worth the read (which I never tired of, personally).
Wonderful twists and turns with insight true to Palahniuk style. Highly recommended.

I definitely need to read more by this guy. This book was so twisted and amusing. It needs to be read twice so I can pick up all the clues I didn’t see the first time around.

this is such a wonderful book. a rather frank exploration of identity/image issues and gender definition.

Fun, mind candy sort of read. Kept surprising me with twists I didn’t quite see coming. Extreme behavior abounds.
