A story about this — 3 years ago
I heard about this show because tragically i found myself sucked into the series One Tree Hill in the last few months. Bryan Greenberg had small role in OTH and so I was interested in his other work.
This is an amazing 10 episode series that intertwines fact and fiction. The three central characters play themselves, struggling actors, and their history, past and present work is a large part of the context. In the case of Bryan Greenberg his story line involves him on the set of One Tree Hill and Prime, and features interactions with cast memebers, including Meryl Streep and Uma Thurman. It is riddle with cameos ie. Jon Lovitz, Tate Donovan, the cast of ER, Sam Rockwell. Producer George Clooney must have called in a lot of favors and it really paid off.
I personally have no interest in the acting side of filmmaking but still found it a compelling series because it portrays what seems to be an insiders look of Hollywood, including day jobs, casting agents, on set banter. There are some very human and touching moments within it as well.
