Better than Da Vinci — 1 year ago
Yay for another great book by Dan Brown! I finished Angel and Demons just last night, and I think that it is absolutely amazing. It is better than Da Vinci Code! Again, the plot is brilliant. In Angel and Demons, Dan Brown explores topics like the thousand-years conflict between science and religion. I love how Dan Brown’s books got me thinking. The plot is very similar to Da Vinci Code. The characters are similar too. A hot-headed girl who makes all the decisions and expect Langdon to follow them, a demanding officer who doesn’t trust the pair, a crippled friend who is the enemy is disguse… I thought I knew the ending, but no! It totally captured me by surprise. The supposed villian turned out to be someone else! But you get the idea that the mastermind villian is just around you, betraying your trust.
Again, in this book, there are many witty conversations that are sure to make you laugh. There is one thing — the book contains sexual elements, although minimal, but it got me aroused! Near the ending, I also felt tears coming to my eyes because it was very touching.
The whole story happens in Rome for a day. From the starting of the story to the ending. It all happened in a day. 24 hours! That’s right, 600 pages in a 24 hour. It brings us to Switzerland, then to Rome, the Vatican city. It shows us places, hidden scientific symbols amongst a city of religion. It talks about the secret society, Illuminati, and shows us how they manage to get the word “illuminati,” “fire,” “earth,” “water,” and “air” written symmetrically. Sounds impossible doesn’t it? It’s sheer genius.
