Not So Much A Review... — 4 years ago
This read a bit like The Red Petal and the White in the sense that there was no concrete ending. I think this is one of those books I would have to read a few more times to begin to understand all the underlying messages and symbols, but to be frank I’m not so eager to do that. The ending is ambiguous and makes you wonder if you hadn’t missed something the first go ’round – once again, this can probably be remedied with a re-read.
There was also a question of the changing POVs for Colleen. Sometimes her narrative is written in the third person, sometimes in first. Why did Moore choose to do this?
At any rate, I’m not a literary critic, and dissecting books for themes really isn’t my forte. It was an okay read, but nothing I’d want to keep in my shelf.
