this book hooked my on Janny Wurts -

this is my favourite book.

There was another of her books i read long ago, when i was about 13, that stuck in my memory for the way not everything was revealed. The reader knows the main character has a mysterious past and a magical lineage, but it’s never revealed and i liked that..

I didn’t realise for many years that this was the same Janny Wurts.

Her language is amazing. When i’ve been reading her books (and they take some long time to read) then my own writing just flows. She unlocks my higher vocabulary. I’ll be writing technical engineering specifications and every phrase i want comes to mind easily.

and her books can be happily re-read over and over, so i’ll never not have a Janny Wurts that’s worth reading.

Great beginning. Janny’s books always seem to inspire me. I love her structure.
