While the premise of this book (two people falling in love by confessing their past romantic sins via a series of letters) never rang true, the individual stories told within each letter are poignant and touching. The storytelling is taut, realistic, a little gritty.
It’s like what chick-lit should be… if the overarching thing worked, that is. Each story within each letter has that ring of truth that makes you feel like getting your teeth into it. But the characters as a whole don’t really seem to connect with their prose.
Still. I enjoyed it a lot.
