I discovered a fun website that is giving me a kickstart opportunity for writing stories that I’ve been meaning to get out in the open. It is called 100words.com and the premise is that if you spend time each day writing just 100 words—no more, no less—you will end up with 3000ish polished words at the end of a month. I enjoyed just focusing on the 100 words for that day and at the end of May, I did have about a chapter’s worth to get going on a short story or novel. I found though, that there are a lot of gaps from one day to the next because I was being so terse. I feel that this text will benefit by a considerable rewrite with the addition of text, but it is a good start and I’m glad I did it. Now I look forward to seeing my June writing as well.
