How sweet it is to look out my window and see that on Sunday the leaf buds on the maple trees had finally begun to unfurl their baby green leaves. The panorama before me is instantly changed as the drab buildings next door are suddenly camouflaged by nature’s vibrant new clothing. Spring has truly sprung! The teeter-totter between daylight and evening balances for the one day and with vernal equinox comes then the tipping point to more minutes of daylight. This has been a volatile winter with torrential rain, floods, windstorms that toppled trees that fairly danced in their loosened soil, snow, massive power outages, and then more rain, more wind and more snow. Last night Mother Nature threw one last blast at us and the weather reporter said that snow has obviously worn out its welcome when the children won’t even go out to play in it.
