i liked the sections about old and new money: roz-s money is plentiful, but it needs to be aged, like good wine or cheese. it’s too brash, too shiny, too exclamatory. its too brazen..

I didn’t like the way it was written and found it quite boring. i did like Charis though.. she was awesome. Zenia was a pig for the things she did :@.
I thought it was way too slow for the story it told and by the end, I was like “that’s it?”

A few years ago (before BookCrossing existed), I was on my way to a bar downtown and I walked through the nearby park to throw away some trash. On the park bench, I saw a tattered copy of “Robber Bride”. My first instinct was to grab it and after a few minutes of rationalizing that the person who left it there did it on purpose, I did take it. When I got home, I started reading it and devoured it in just a few days.
Even if you’re not looking for a “thinking” book, this is a good novel to just breeze through. The characters are vivid and you’ll probably see a little of yourself in every one of them. One of the characters is rather loathsome, so maybe you won’t see even a little of yourself in her. Or will you?
