This wasn’t as dire as I remembered, although not one of the better PKD adaptations. The idea is quite good: a man (Ben Affleck) invents a machine to see the future, but as per the terms of his contract, has his memory of the development time erased to protect corporate secrets. However, having seen his own future, he’s able to send himself a ‘care package’ of items needed to save his own life. Sort of, big idea explored on a small scale.

Think it might have been better with a different cast, at least. Affleck isn’t too bad, but I really didn’t like Uma Thurman here. There’s also just something a bit off with the pacing, the ‘mystery’ of the packet of seemingly mundane items and how the characters figure out what to do with them.
