The classic story of the slightly bizarre Durrell family and their move to Corfu. Told through the eyes of 12-year-old Gerry, who is really more interested than animals than in his family, but somehow they creep into the book and then take over. Enjoyable glimpses into island life, local customs, and a bit of natural history too. Brilliant.
