WORTH CONSUMING!

I stop reading in the middle of chapter three. I guess I got tired of getting to resolution part of the story. After a week of just looking at the book on my desk staring back at me, I went back to reading it. As soon as I got to chapter four, I couldn’t put it down. I could kick myself for not continuing on when I was on chapter three. Anyway, to me this book is about moral corruption. Can good, decent people be corrupted morally?

My favorite “anybody-can-relate-to-this” part:

When someone has disappointed you, it is often difficult to decide whether to continue their acquaintance, even if the disappointers have done noble things in the meantime. (Chapter Eight)

(I love the mirror-written chapters since I do mirror-writing, too.)

WORTH CONSUMING!

Perhaps the best yet of the Snicket tomes as the Baudelaire trio sees the loose ends of the mystery that is their lives come together at the Hotel Denouement. Much of it focuses on the thin demarcation between good and evil, a phrase which here means “tiny little barrier between thoughtful, clean, courteous youngsters and stupid, filthy and rude Count Olaf and his minions.”

WORTH CONSUMING!

So far my ranking is (read so far…) goes like this:

Book Eight, Book Two, Book Twelve, Book Five, Book Seven, Book Ten Book Six, Book Nine, Book Four, Book One, Book Three, Book Eleven.

Much, Much ,Much better than book eleven. I can’t wait for the final volume: Book The Thirteen – The End to come out.

The final Baudelaire book is due on Friday the 13th,

October 2006.
