I abandoned this after being persuaded by someone who had an interesting take on the situation. Which was that by being stubborn and making myself read something I didn’t terribly like, I was wasting time I could be spending on other, better books.
It’s a new way of thinking!
And I really, really could not get into this book. I didn’t like the principle character and god knows it was going absolutely nowhere fast.
