This movie had me feeling icky a lot. But in a good way, I guess, because I was also glued to the screen. The movie revolves around Nina, who is a pretty complex character. She lives at home with her pretty obsessive mother, who used to be a dancer herself, until she got pregnant. She’s been at the ballet school for ages, but has been fairly invisible. The artistic director who she tries to impress turns out to be a bit of a pig. Add in some obsessive scratching, delusions, and a date with fellow dancer Lily combined wieth a couple of pills…. Well, all in all a recipe of psychological turmoil and disaster.

The path of Nina slipping out of controll is beautifully shot, especially in combination with the Black vs White Swan theme. You are constantly left wondering what is real and what isn’t. Right up till the end…
