It was very strange watching this again, a couple of years after seeing it at the cinema (twice) and more so after reading the book. I actually thought the disc had started halfway through, given the non-linear (hello, Nolan brothers!) telling of the plot – very unlike the book.

Again I’m surprised at how much better than the novel I liked this version of the story. Although very, very similar, the script is Angier’s act compared with Borden’s: more polished, more showmanship.
