I didn’t expect much when I went to see it, because time has proven over and over again that games do not translate into movies well.

Prince of Persia is an okay movie. It’s absolutely generic and safe, nothing you haven’t seen before in x amount of adventure films. There could’ve been more parkour scenes and less of the hectic and messy battle scenes (messy as in I didn’t understand what was going on since it was going so fast), but eh. The scenery was still rather pretty, and so was the music. Most of the humor didn’t feel out of place either. I actually liked how they adapted the story to a more movie-friendly format, it’s just a shame it was so shallow and predictable.

But really, I liked it enough for a 7/10 rating. It didn’t shame this great game trilogy too much, and didn’t let Uwe Boll direct it. That’s reason enough.
