All Consuming

A story about this — 2 years ago

I wanted to like this movie more than I did. It was okay-ish, but… I dunno. The implausibilities rather got to me. The shifting demands over who you were rooting for. On the plus side, Gerry Butler’s American accent is improving, with the few hints of Scottish twang a lot less annoying than the US-twang creeping into his own accent in interviews.

I’m conflicted about GB. I screened his earliest body of work, found it lacking in appeal and wasn’t too surprised about say, RocknRolla? I liked Dear Frankie a lot back then, but everything else he’s been in has been meh.

Dear Frankie was good

But agree, he’s one of these people you always think could be doing better.
