WORTH CONSUMING!

I really don’t think it’s fair to label this film a chick flick. It is a bit quirky and centered on the lives of three waitresses, but it’s just not a chick flick. The romantic storyline is anything but contrived and formulaic, the characters are not two dimensional, and the film has real stuff to say, and the relationships were messy like in real life.

All the characters have flaws, and even the abusive husband was impossible to hate, because he was made to be human.
I loved that this film didn’t romanticize motherhood either. None of that is a chick flick approach.

Sure, the ending might have been wrapped up a little too easily, neatly, and happily, but the ending was the least important part of the film.
