Obviously I adore MBeck. Steering by Starlight was written a few years after Finding Your Own North Star but reads very much like a companion piece, although perhaps a bit easier to read (and slimmer!).
I’ve given this five stars ‘cos it’s so easy to read, full of humour, MBeck comes across as a real person not a lecturer, and the advice is brilliant. However, perhaps just because of the mood I’m in right now, it is a bit frustrating to read, “Do what makes you happy”, “Your self knows what you want” – when I’m a bit lost and quite frankly think doing what makes me happy would result in starvation. Ho-hum. I’ll be rereading this again and again, though, so the rating stands.

Thanks for reviewing Beck!
Wow, we have a number of books/authors in common :)
I’ve been curious about Martha Beck for some time, having read none of her books, should I start with Steering or Finding?

either
North Star was written first, but I think Starlight – for all it references NS and the ideas discussed there – is probably a bit easier to get into.
