WORTH CONSUMING!

It’s a downer documentary about how IMF and the World Bank help usher the world from colonialism as an explicit power structure to global capitalism as an implicit one. Here we have Jamaica getting screwed. You don’t expect lots of beautiful, artistic photography in a downer documentary. But you get it here, quite frequently. The style and quality changes enough that I should’ve assumed there was more than one cinematographer. Indeed, there are four of them. I don’t know which one(s) shot such remarkable footage, but I thank them for it. Propaganda films should be convincing, of course, but nobody expects them to be so interesting photographically.
