Why I gave up consuming this — 1 year ago
NOT WORTH CONSUMING
Fantasy. It’s just not my cup of tea anymore. I’m sure the book is as great as others say, but it’s not for me. Oh well.

I agree. I took this up when I was in high school mumble mumble years ago and while I was fascinated with the sad, twisted bitterness of Covenant’s life as a leper in the real world, once he landed in the fantasy world I lost interest entirely. I keep thinking I should give it another try now that I’m an adult, but then I remember that as an adult I don’t much dig on the “dragons and dum-dums” (my mother’s phrase) genre. There are lots of other, better books out there I haven’t even tried once!
I keep wondering, though, if at some point Donaldson maybe did a nonfiction book about leprosy in the modern age? But that is probably from a dream or something.

You've hit it on the head
Life is too short and there are too many books out there to try to read books you don’t like. I do agree that the first part about the leprosy was introduced. I only gave up after he got transported to another world.
