NOT WORTH CONSUMING
As a huge fan of the original short story (which was actually quite long), I feel that the makers of this movie completely killed it. While it might be a decent movie on its own, I think the ending was terrible. The story ended with a wonderful feeling of uncertainty and a tiny bit of hope, while in the movie it was just… depressing. Not in a cool/interesting way, but in a sort of “Why even try?” way.
I’ll stick to the original story, thanks.

Amarin Astarte is a giant ball of MEH.

I agree completely. I was really hoping for a decent adaption of a Stephen King story just once. ONCE.
MEH.
The audio adaption is okay, though. Better than the movie I thought.
