god! remaster this now, someone please! the sound quality was crap, and there were some scenes that looked like a bad sepia tone picture.
as for the film, very very good. a bit over the top on the villains, but god, probably not much. chris cooper in an interesting one-dimensional performance, mary mcdonnell is underutilized, but will oldham! jeez! i am very impressed.
ending’s a bit snappy and ambiguous, but if you want to know more about what happened next, as im sure you will, its a good inspiration to actually go read up on it, maybe draw a few parallels between the old coal companies and the more sinister corporations of today. eminent domain anyone?
