I’m glad I didn’t give up on this movie after having read the book. I didn’t like Hellboy the comic book (vol. 1) that much. It wasn’t funny, and Abraham is virtually non-existent in this book.
The movie is 1000 times better and there are 4 good reasons:
1. Ron Perlman
2. David Hyde Pierce as Abe
3. John Hurt (the guy could act the phone book and I would watch it!)
4. the humor
5. The Nazis are totally creepy and I like the whole Hitler and his use of the supernatural to win WW2 (see Raiders of the Lost Ark).
Ok- that’s 5 reasons. But what can I say- this movie rocked!
