another sweet and quick story from ozu, this one about the need for children to feel pride in their father. there were some nice scenes in here, although i dont understand the laying down thing. i also liked the same actors from tokyo chorus switching roles, although the son stays pretty much the same. what a little turd! the use of routine, the uniforms, all utilized to convey its message of maturation. its actually a really good movie. the funniest parts are seeing the children together, and i love how everyone hits each other upside the head.
