It’s for those who haven’t read the book, planned on doing so, but then neglected it so often that watching the movie was a last ditch effort. I have to say, the acting was bad, even for Diahann Carrol, Esther Rolle, and especially the little girl playing Maya’s role. The story isn’t bad, but the quality of the movie itself was very disappointing. Watch is anyway.
