This movie might actually be my favorite of the Pirates serie (yes, more than the first). The first was fresh and new and I’ll always love it but this one has a great epic quality that really moves me (I find myself crying while watching it!). It just felt so beautiful (maybe because creepy creatures have a bit less screen time than in the other two parts?!) – the images, the music, the maelström, and the love, the love! It’s really a must-see and I enjoyed seeing it multiple times.

The 2-disc DVD is also great. The bloopers are actually funny (which doesn’t happen that often) and all the little documentary pieces are really interesting – my favorite being the one on the music, because said music is really awesome. The props-making ones were great too (loved the design of the map!). If you liked the movie, I strongly recommend that you buy the 2-disc DVD because it’s really worth it!
