when I was a teen, my family wandered into a production of King Lear at the ART. Brother Blue had been cast as Lear – we knew him from hanging around Harvard Sq. and were intrigued. But instead of the blue storyteller, a short young man in an oversized fur coat appeared. Turns out he was the director, Peter Sellars, standing in at the last minute, I guess Brother Blue couldn’t make it that afternoon.

Brother Blue once told stories for 72 hours straight at a church in Boston.
