All Consuming

Starship Troopers

I love it!

Don't blame the book for the movie...

The most important part of the book, namely the importance of a responsible voting public, is almost entirely ignored in the movie.

The best part of the book is the discussion of how to have a Republic which both enables an efficient meritocracy for its government. While excluding selfish profiteers and malingerers from the political leadership, and still enabling a common system of rights that protects citizens and non-citizens equally.

I see the political system from this book as the natural evolution of democracy.
