WORTH CONSUMING!
My mom hipped me to this movie as a child, and to this day, no matter what she’s doing, she’ll sit down and watch it and we’ll go back and forth on this issues. A young white girl meets and falls in love with a man, typical story so far, but in this case, he’s black, and she brings him home to meet her parents who are liberal minded. But their own belief system gets tested on this which makes for a very interesting movie.

My mom's story
Last night, we went to watch this again, and I was like, this girl is truly naive@@ I couldn’t get with her character at all. I understand she had no concept as to what would go down between her and this man, but she had to have some understanding of the world as it was at that time(and still now). My mom said she and two other friends went to see this movie at the theater and sat through THREE showings of the movie. They hid in the bathroom between showings, sat in different places, but they watched the movie and boo hooed through it. They thought it was that good.
