“You are a miserable sinner! Your human nature has been corrupted. You are the source of your own problems. Your answer is found in the person of Jesus Christ. Get off yourself, stop focusing upon yourself, and direct your conscious, day-by-day attention to the Lord Jesus Christ. He is your life!”

We all have problems – and this book helps someone who is hurting, or someone who has a low self-esteem, to see that they are the problem and Jesus is the answer. It also shows how the Church assists us as we abide in Christ everyday.
One new idea / concept I learned from this book:
Positive thinking isn’t good enough (pg. 189). Denying myself doesn’t mean I think of myself as less – but to truly deny myself is to abide in Christ. I cling to Him and He shows through me. I am an awful sinner, and I thank God that Jesus takes away my selfishness and wraps me in His love.
