I wasn’t as enamoured with this as I expected to be. I liked the main story about the four friends and found the writing quite charming, but a few of the chapters, such as the one with the missing Otter and the one about Rat wanting to go south, felt oddly out of place and “tacked on.” But I won’t hesitate to one day share this book with my son.
