When I was 11, my family and I were doing trick-or-treating in downtown Overland Park, Kansas. The old appliance store had been under renovations and on Halloween it was open, they were giving out little pieces of pizza.

I was hooked.

After that I began saving up bits of money and would ride by bicycle up to Papa Keno’s to buy their big-as-your-face slices. When I left for college, it was hard to find anything as good as Papa Keno’s, so whenever I was in town, I made a stop there. Over ten years later and I still love their pizza.

And I still don’t own a Papa Keno’s shirt.
