I had an awesome history teacher once who absolutely loved this movie. He’d show it to all of his classes every year, and jokingly encouraged us to address him, “Oh, Captain! My Captain!”

I was telling a friend about him the other day, and when they asked me what his name was, the only thing I could think was “captain”.

So, here’s to you, Captain! Keep teaching, keep changing lives, and when you retire, remember: Carpe Diam.
