The Immortals was touted as THE hottest summer romance series. Jennifer Ashley is one of my top three favorite romance novelists and I was excited for her to launch this series, which represented her vision. But the Jennifer Ashley I’ve grown to love must have been possessed by a demon, because the book is thick with sadistic sex scenes and torture. Sure there’s the requisite Jennifer Ashley steaminess, but it’s surrounded by demons flaying the skin off people and worse. I’m going to continue reading the books, but I’m disturbed most heartily.
