Good Story, Communism, athiesm, religion and the devil. Based on the book by Bulgakov.
A guy from work turned me onto it – he’s an interesting fellow. Russian Jew by way of Isreal, converted to some kind of Jewish-Christianity. Moved to Canada, intelectual working as a truck driver. He’s been copying the DVD onto cassettes for me to watch. It’s sub-tittled so you have to pay close attention. I just finished part one.

The book
Give the book a try, much better than the movie which is not very well subtitled so you miss a lot of subtleties.

I have an on-line copy book-marked and have been refering to it – but I have been enjoying the visuality of the movie.
We may not be looking at the same version – my friend tells me there were two. The one he has loaned me is the superior miniseries version – I think he said it was made for Polish TV. Though – I know he hasn’t watched it with subtitles (as I am required to)
