WORTH CONSUMING!
Persevere and get past the start of this book. Somewhere around page 100 when the two heroines of the story finally meet, the book takes off and soars. An ultimately beautiful story of two women at opposite ends of slavery creating an unlikely partnership.

I think I'm losing my mind
Is this a romance? Like a Harlequin? That’s all I feel like reading lately. (That or Radar magazine.)
I’m so girlie lately I’m even going to try to find a decent rom-com on pay per view in a bit to fall asleep to. “Stranger Than Fiction” last night put me in the mood. (Though Jackass Two is sounding pretty appealing right now, as well…)

Er, no.
Not quite a romance. More like a saga of the oppression of an entire race. There’s a few titillating sex scenes though.

I suppose that could count...
... but not really what I’m looking for. I see oppression on a daily basis and countering it is a full-time job. :-)
