A story about this — 2 years ago
I liked this Movie a lot. It is probably now one of my favorite Movies. As a long-time student of anthropology/archaeology specific to the study of early or primitive cultures (primarily middle eastern and what would come to be considered native american) I fully understand that these time periods can have precious little in the way of any true understanding. Yes, we have and continue to garner new information that we can try to view as well as possible looking backwards through the impossibly-biased (however well steeped in science) lens of our 21st century eyes, but the hard truth is that a jungle has no mercy on anything. I am impressed with Gibson’s effort. I liked it. It was a great Movie.

I thought he put an A+ effort into detail and tried to tell a single story instead of “The Whole Story”. Of course story telling about a past that has little hard facts left behind has to be re created but I think Mel for once did a note worthy job of story telling. I liked the music and camera angles as well, they helped me believe the story. Editing was well done, a lot better then Braveheart in that Dept.
